IMPORTANT NOTICE: Mandatory Grant Payments

04 December 2024

To: Levy Paying employers

Reference: Skills Development Circular No 16 of 2024

MANDATORY GRANT PAYMENTS

The HWSETA regrets to inform stakeholders participating in mandatory grants, that the mandatory grant payments due by 31 December 2024 will be postponed indefinitely.

This is due to employer files (levy downloads) to support the levies transferred not being received from the Department of Higher Education and Training (DHET). This is due to technical challenges experienced by the DHET with the Levies system.

The Department is working on resolving the system challenges. There is no certainty as to how long will this take to be resolved.

All outstanding grants will be prioritised and processed as soon as the system issues are resolved by the DHET, and the levy files are received by the HWSETA.

This is indeed unfortunate however not within the control of the HWSETA. We sincerely apologise for the inconvenience caused.

Yours sincerely,
