The Services SETA invites Expressions of Interest from registered employers and industry associations in funeral services.
This initiative aims to professionalise the sector and address key skills gaps.
Objectives of the Project
- Partner with stakeholders to implement learnerships, apprenticeships, skills programmes and Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) learning programmes.
- Upskill the workforce in funeral services to meet industry standards and legislative requirements.
- Provide training opportunities for unemployed youth to access careers in funeral services and grow into future business owners.
Focus Areas Include
- Mortuary and embalming operations.
- Emergency first aid response (intermediate and advanced).
- Carpentry for coffin making production
- Marketing, contact centre and insurance services for funeral businesses.
Eligibility Criteria
To participate, applicants must:
- Be a registered employer or industry association in funeral services.
- Demonstrate the capacity to support and implement training interventions.
- Commit to providing a conducive learning environment for participants.
